for baby: After 6 months of age, babies can enjoy a wide
variety of
vegetables from the simple carrot puree to mixed vegetable recipes. The
secret is
to try and offer baby different vegetables of different
colors
and
textures.

Vegetables For Baby - Zucchini Baby Food
Zucchini
is a good baby food vegetable as its rich in protein,
vitamins A,
C K, B6 and dietary fiber. Makes a
lovely simple puree by itself and
can also be
used in lots of other baby food recipes.
I
think a lot of babies love butternut squash. It makes a really
creamy slightly sweet tasting puree which makes
it a yummy baby food.
Its also a good source of vitamin B6, vitamin E , vitamin C and
minerals.
Vegetable For Baby -
Broccoli
Broccoli
is a very nutritious vegetable. Baby can be introduced to plain
broccoli puree at 6 months. Its rich in protein, fiber, vitamin C
and minerals.
Vegetables For Baby-
Cauliflower
Cauliflower
is rich in protein and is also a great source of vitamin C
and
vitamin K. It makes a great healthy
starter baby food from 6 months.
You can steam or boil cauliflower. Steaming
retains
a lot of goodness!
Vegetables For Baby - Peas
Peas contain vitamin C, vitamin K, vitamin A and are also a great
source
of fiber. Peas can be introduced to
baby at 6 months. But its
import to take the pea hasks off before serving as young babies tummies
may find it
hard to digest them leading to bloatiness and
tummy upset.

Carrots
Carrots
are a great source of Vitamin A which is vital for good eye sight.
Carrots make a great starter
vegetable for babies over 6 months. Great
as finger food snack for older babies and toddlers too.

Avocado
Avocado,
super vegetable! Makes a delicious rich, creamy and really yummy
vegetable puree. Its rich in vitamin
C, vitamin K and dietary fiber.
Can be introduced to babies over 6 months of age. Great mixed with
banana!
Vegetables For Baby -
Parsnips
Parsnips
make a nutritious special tasting puree and can be easly combined with
other vegetables such as
carrots and sweet potato. Parsnips are a good
source of
potassium, fiber and
vitamin C.
Vegetable For Baby -
Eggplant
Eggplants
are a great source of vitamins B6 and K. They are also rich
in
minerals such as potassium and mangnese. Eggplants taste
great
when stewed in a tomato based sauce and some fresh herbs.
White Potato as a vegetable for
your baby
When
using white potatoes in babys cooking, choose only fresh nice looking
potatoes with no green parts on their skin or broken brownish areas.
The green areas may contain a substance known as Solanine.
Solanine
is toxic so its best to avoid potatoes with even a bit of green on
them. Some symptoms of solanine poisoning amoung others include:
nausea,
vomitting, diarrhea, tummy pain and headache.
Again,
choose
only good healthy looking, fresh potatoes when making homemade baby
foods that require the use of white potatoes.

try. Remember to try and use vegetables of different colors that are
suitable for your little one and cook them in a lot of creative but
easy
ways.
